Muntjac mania

Post by mirage41 » Sat Sep 10, 2022 4:00 am

I know I'm a light sleeper, but I have just been alerted by the sound of our front garden being munched.
Whilst it is too dark to spot the culprit, those two famous words have given us a momentary respite.
Further inspection at reveille will doubtless confirm another raid by one or more of the increasing multitude of Muntjac.

Yep, same as Paddy. My daffodils last no time in Spring and Autumn, neither do my neighbours flowers!. Security light coming on in early morn, don't bother to get out of bed. I know exactly what it is!!!. Lots of them in Suffolk. Lot of road deaths and car damage.

Can you eat Muntjac? After they are a road-kill obviously.

Yes, but it's best to cook it first.

I think there is a restaurant in Aldeburgh or Southwold - somewhere on the Suffolk coast, anyway - that specialises in muntjac dishes.

But in my experience they don't hold water very well unless the skin has been properly tanned.

They do indeed, Mytee, sadly anything with pleasure within is not welcomed by the other half.
Still looking for someone to join me with a portion.

Don’t no about joining you for a portion ( think that’s a different group 😂😂),
but they’ve got one of the loudest barks I’ve ever heard.
