The Germans plan to be back tomorrow morning I'm told.

Also, Bloxholme lane (the lane that runs behind the wave parallel to the A15) has been blocked off. I find that one more odd than the layby down the far side!
That has to be a move by some jobsworth, crowd control? Corral everyone into WAVE. Good for John but rather arrogant by the Authorities.

Will the WAVE be opening at the normal time 0f 07:30 during CW22 or is it likely to be earlier during the exercise?
Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

Looking like rain most of next week, is this likely to affect operations? Hoping to come up Monday when it’s forecasted not to be thunder and lightning!

I find the road closures and especially lay-by closures ridiculous. I thought a lay-by was for parking in but hey ho. Is it because they want everyone in the wave? Good for bacon roll sales - spotters breakfast

I think there was talk the other day of the Germans flying today Friday. I guess it is easy enough to check for activity around them as they are so close to the official viewing area.

You have to be careful with Cobra warrior as not every day is an exercise day but I heard Monday, Wednesday, Friday next week are flying days so you should be ok. Afternoons by the way so watch out for the sun position

They can still of course do their own thing on non exercise days.

The closure of the layby not only affects spotters, what about the lorry driver who use them for their rest periods or over night stops. Find it almost illegal as I do not believe there has been any public notice posted ?

Any serial matchups? Caught the lot of them over Fife as they exited low level but way too far for ID

Those lay-bys at the 02 end are pretty big and can accommodate a fair few cars aswell so i really dont see the point in the closure. I also think that the 02 end is probably safer for pedestrians than the A15 too.
It probably does have something to do with the WAVE getting extra custom aswell, although i wont use the cafe anymore after being refused service a few years ago when the red arrows were a few minutes away from doing a practice display and the owner at the time wanted to watch them instead of serve, so he stopped cooking food and told us to come back after they displayed (we never did go back). I understand it is now run by that persons sister who no doubt is a very nice person but its just completely put me off using the cafe.

I bet the farmers pull some pretty big strings on the parish or local council and can bye- law the lay-by shut or can they?

I liked the wave when it was part cafe and part hobbyist book shop.

But the location is pretty good let's be honest with plenty of parking toilets and food and drink and close to the fence across a busy road

I am not really complaining because you don't have to go there - Oops but yes you do because every other historical parking spot has restrictions! I think when road closures erode personal liberties then it leaves a bad taste. The authorities want to corral us like cattle. We are British and expect a choice and the lay by should be open for normal use.

Perhaps those local to Waddington can contact the local authority and ask them to explain their action on road and layby closures. Remember these things cost you local tax payers money !!!!
If there is a restriction on the general public going about their lawful actives then due notice should have been posted in the local press and on site ie there should have a notice in the layby for at least two weeks.
Has there been a request from the MOD or police to insist on the parking restrictions ? Very much doubt this, more likely local landowners, but if that is the case why should those landowner have privilege access to the Council and have byelaws and restriction in place for their personal benefit.

A thread with a bit of indignation always seems to generate heat!
Hopefully all will settle down, and the weather will be good!
Enjoy the aeroplanes...
I'll be there somewhere smiling whatever. :) :)
