Where did the hawks operate from in 2018?
I’m not absolutely certain but RAF Wittering rings a bell with about nine from RAF Valley.
Looks like we should ask McMike if DaveMike doesn’t know

For the 100 I went up on the Balcony in front of the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank. Great views from there, but get there early....

100 Sqn used Wittering in 2018 for the 100th flypast

Yes, I’ve checked my images. I had a camera settings finger trouble which meant five images superimposed on each other. Bother!

Anyone considering travelling to “Northala Fields”…..the mounds containing the remains of the old Wembley Stadium, located beside the A40 at Northolt, be advised that the highest mound has the top section closed off, as it is going to host a fire beacon for the Platinum Jubilee.
Locally, this area is reported as going to be “very busy” on the day, as the flypast will route out from London basically following the A40 westbound.

A friend of mine from Walthamstow told me he planned to watch the flypast from Bethnal Green station platform. I "Google mapped" the location and it does seem to point in a straight line to The Mall, potentially decent vantage point

. He's since changed his mind and decided his priority is to have a day at Lords watching the Test instead. Being a Kiwi he can be forgiven, bless.

Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

I went to Northala Fields for the last flypast and everything was miles away as routed over Heathrow. The BBMF and Choppers always break off early anyway.Normally its good at RAF Northolt but again last time not alot was seen.It looks like Heathrow will be on easterlies which may affect the routing but am assuming they will have an embargo when the flypast takes place

I'm lucky to live on the path in Essex, so I'll just stand on the roof to see it, we don't get the helicopters though sadly.

The route seems different to the usual North Sea form up, then Southwold, A12, London.
There are references to Swaffham and Thetford then to Colchester.
Also mentions Southend, but that is outside the marked area on the NOTAM.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Southend is way too far South, that can't be right

I thought the same tbh, Although i Guess they are still going straight down the mall i assume so would not imagine they could change the route much,

Remember that the practice did not follow the well trodden path of previous years.

When they are in the Colchester Area, They often use Southend for a LARS service since Wattisham became an AAC base.

Out of interest, I know previously some of the formation has still been together over Brize after the flypast... any ideas on what might be seen If you went there for the flypast traffic? Not asking for me as I live the end of the country now, but a friend has asked who lives locally. Cheers.

The slower aircraft will almost certainly have to turn out of the way of the following faster aircraft, immediately after Buck House, so the helis and BBMF are unlikely to make it to Northolt, let alone Brize. And even the fast jets might disperse before Brize, for example in the High Wycombe/Aylesbury area.
I think Northala fields will see the aircraft almost directly overhead - I would have thought one of the parks a half a mile south of the A40 (Lime Tree, Perivale or Ravenor) would be a better bet.

I know the BBMF Lancaster is scheduled to do a flypast over the Severn Valley Railway at approx 2pm

Hi do we yet have an exact time for the flypast over Buckingham Palace I am hearing anything from 12:30 to 1? I will be driving up to Battersea Park as I watched the 100 flypast from there. Cheap parking and quite easy to get to from my direction. On the 100th the helicopters broke south directly overhead which was nice. Thanks
