Rather something with some character like the Viggen

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
Think that would be under civilian if the CAA would even allow it
Wouldn't mind the Saab 340 that was down for static display last year, before the cancellation.
Nice update today, was hoping for the Spanish Hornet

The Viggen and Co from the Swedish Historic Flight could still fly in for static just wouldn't be able to display.
Nice to see the Spanish Hornet again would be great if Spanish AV-8B Harrier was added to the line up

It's over land. i believe they are only allowed to display over water. Anything over land is restricted to flypast only.Discodaz wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 7:22 pmwhy not though? they have displayed at sunderland airshow.Red-Eye-Knight wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 6:34 pmThe Viggen and Co from the Swedish Historic Flight could still fly in for static just wouldn't be able to display.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
I'm surprised that there hasn't been a confirmation from the Italian and French airforce as they participate in the flying displays every year.
Particularly the Italians, the usually have several displays.
I'm also wondering if the Polish f16 will participate this year

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
It could be the Alca or the Hind from the Czech Airforce, Probably a Gripen from Hungary but it will most likely cancel if it confirms as it usually does

Still plenty of time for confirmations from them and lots of other nations hope the Italians send the Tornado for flying display as they did in 2017, Would be good to see the Polish F-16 again was hoping for the Polish Mig-29 but god knows what's happening with them due to the Ukraine situation.Flightech wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 10:24 pmI'm surprised that there hasn't been a confirmation from the Italian and French airforce as they participate in the flying displays every year.

Because Fairford is an active military base I didn't think it came under CAA rules, please correct me if I am wrong.

RIAT complies with the safety requirements of the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
