The Ukraine Situation
Re: The Ukraine Situation
This is not 1940 nor is it 1965. Unfortunately today in the western world the people from working class to high class possess a personal communicator cum tracking device. Via these we can express personal opinions and recieve opinions from others and these moods and swings as we know can be analysied. Therefore the people's of the west's resolve and tolerance can be measured. Back in 1965 Putin would measure the western world's resolve via mainly what was in the newspapers which were controlled by realy a small number of media moguls. Or and, Putin would get our resolve measurement from his KGB agents and embassies. In the second world war Winstons colleration government controlled the people's resolve by propaganda at the cinema for Hitler's lazy agents to consume. So our resolve was controlled for the outside worlds consumption in 1940 and 1965. Today Putin's KGB sit in their bunkers and look with their unrestricted devices at our soft underbelly of resolve knowing its absolutely bang on the money ! Putin has sat in the Kremlin steaming after the collapse of the USSR where the western newspapers influenced the Russian people's resolve. Now Putin can feed his people with propaganda directly into their pockets but keeping our western opinions out. Every time Putin isues a threat he can measure our reactions to the infinitum. He can read all the "oh is terrible that the poor people in Ukraine are being treated so baddly, but it will not affect us will it" from the soft belly of middle England straight into the Kremlin. We might as well let the Russian KGB into or houses ! Until the west show Putin real resolve I fear he will keep on comming !

The reality is that people are defending and dying in the Ukraine and we are being told about it.LotusDriver10 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 5:39 amThink there is a far deeper thing going on in Ukraine than we are being told.

Re: The Ukraine Situation
In my personal opinion lotus you are talking rubbish and your opinions are pointless to the extent of being Fake News because you have not included a single reference that can be checked. Additionally are you saying that justifies Russian war crimes as seen on BBC news ???
Re: The Ukraine Situation
I’m flying to the Polish Ukraine border today, to help arriving refugees for a few days. It’s a minor thing, but it’s something I can do in person. It’s so sad to see all those people running away from their (European) country, because of the insanity of a madman. And that’s the polite version of what I’m thinking right now.
I a few days I go back home again and my colleagues and friends will still be complaining about high fuel prices and electricity. Those things suck of course, but well, the people running from Ukraine would wish that’s the only thing they should worry about.

Comfortably Numb
Re: The Ukraine Situation
It really seems like it's Asia vs NATO in this conflict to me.
India is considering taking up a Russian offer to buy its crude oil and other commodities at discounted prices, Reuters reports two Indian officials as saying.
Russia is facing heavy Western sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine, including several banks being banned from the Swift international payments system.
India, which imports 80% of its oil, usually buys about 2% to 3% of its supplies from Russia but with oil prices on the rise Reuters says the Indian government is looking to reduce its energy costs.
One official tells the news agency they were happy to take the discounted goods and says India is not concerned about getting entangled in sanctions.
They add that work is ongoing to set up a rupee-rouble trade mechanism.

Re: The Ukraine Situation
If colp is accurate, then both countries are quite sensible in taking advantage of the situation. I doubt that any Western business and/or politicians would pass up such a deal.

Re: The Ukraine Situation
Lotusdriver absolutely has the right of free speech to say he thinks more is going on in Ukraine than we are being told. Rather than condemning him, shouldn't we ask why he thinks that?
For example, if we are meant to accept that Ukraine is being annihilated by Russia and the press has even suggested that Putin will steal the biological weapons from the labs in Ukraine (that don't exist you understand) to use against the Ukrainian people then I have a couple of questions.
Firstly explain this video, which appears to show someone travelling freely around Ukraine with the power still switched on and outside of media circus areas totally peaceful scenes. https://www.bitchute.com/video/C1iPwR44LnLI/
Secondly, if the Russians wanted Ukraine levelled then quite simply it would be by now. Why is it not? Again, I refer you to footage of the West bombing Baghdad every night in Gulf War 2. Where is the footage of this happening in Kiev, especially when every man and his dog has a mobile recording device on them?
I can see people are annoyed about potential Russian propaganda (which I'm sure will be occurring) but as Russian media has been censured from the Western world, we really need to be concerned with Western propaganda affecting us, not Russian surely?
For example the hospital thing in Mariupol, looks absolutely nothing like a precision guided bomb attack from an advanced airforce and exactly like a couple of fertiliser bombs being let off in the courtyard to blow all the windows out and show the appearance of damage. The white helmets and friends in Syria were adept at these crisis actor false flag style events, perhaps the Ukrainians have taken a leaf out of their book?
We can't know the truth of the situation inside the country but it seems like the Azov battalion are encircled in Mariupol. There are reports that they are shooting citizens dead who are trying to leave through the humanitarian corridors the Russians have left open. Possibly to use as propaganda and blame the Russians for the deaths, or to frighten civilians into staying put to act as shields for the far right Ukrainian fighters, as of course it makes any Russian forces jobs harder to avoid collateral damage.
Remembering where the term collateral damage was coined and by who shall we...
Like I said we can't know what is going on, but based on what I have seen, or more importantly have not seen, I stand by my opinion that this is a limited military incursion with specific goals. I hope I'm right and so should we all to be honest. The quicker those goals are achieved the better for the Ukrainian people, all this talk of sending mercenaries, more weapons or even jets to Ukraine will not be enough to stop Russia, it will simply prolong the suffering for the innocents in Ukraine I'm afraid. Everyone must realise that?
Re: The Ukraine Situation
Craig. Sadly, I have to agree with your last paragraph.
Re: The Ukraine Situation
The way to stop this invasion of a sovereign state, the Ukraine, is for Russia to cease fire and return within their own borders.
Re: The Ukraine Situation
Stating the rather obvious!!.

Re: The Ukraine Situation
Some don’t seem to be able to see it that clearly.
Re: The Ukraine Situation
It may be a “ limited incursion with specific goals “ but Russia with no legitimate cause is attacking a sovereign state and killing its citizens.
They should return over the border and make restitution.
The Western alliance is all mouth and no trousers as the saying goes. They have been shown to enter into conflict against relatively soft regimes and still leave behind destruction and human suffering.
As a deterrent, in this conflict, they have not been effective.
The Teddy Roosevelt’s saying of “Tread softly but carry a big stick “ only works if the stick gets used.

Got any links to these 'reports' ?Craig wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 11:00 pmWe can't know the truth of the situation inside the country but it seems like the Azov battalion are encircled in Mariupol. I take it you also think that one of Russia's objectives is to get to the hidden crashed alien mothership that's being held at a top secret US / Ukrainian underground base and release THE TRUTH to the blinkered population of planet Earth?
Re: The Ukraine Situation
Well, I just got back from the Polish-Ukraine border. And for me one thing is clear. My hate and disgust towards the Russian president, his subordinates and the Russian murderous military operation has increased considerably. Seeing so many men pour into Ukraine, while the women, children and elderly are running for their lives, is horrible to see.
Whatever the plan of Russia is (I still don’t know…), is causing a huge humanitarian crisis.
For those who support or understand Putin, I have a few questions.
Women, children, even babies are leaving the country. Many others couldn’t, because they died. Were these people nazis? Did they have to be denazified?
All those schools, hospitals, apartment buildings, did they need to be demilitarized (by bombing them)
As denazification and demilitarization were Putins main objectives, these questions should be answered with a yes…
But to be honest, I saw little children and their mothers at the train station of Pzemysl. They didn’t look like nazis…
So for everyone that still supports Putin, shame on you, and I hope hell awaits them… (sorry, maybe a bit of an agressive post (but that’s how I feel)
Putin can be proud of this

Shame the Russian people don't have that right then isn't it!
As for the rest of your perverted drivel - get off of your pointy red star and go and see for yourself what the people of the Ukraine are suffering, as Kurnass has done.
