Don't want to get into a row as everyone is entitled to their opinion

However when you say

'This appears to be a limited incursion, with very specific targeting and engagements planned, which makes sense, because why would the Russians want to cause great collateral damage to their Ukrainian cousins.'

Why are residential properties included in ' Specific targeting' with the resulting death of children?

I don't know how putin sleeps at night but I hope he spends an eternity wide awake in hell.

Slightly off track. But am I being harsh to think that Russian individuals should be banned from all sports? F1 have confirmed that the Belarusian and Russian drivers can compete. Also we have Russian tennis players and footballers still playing.
Update on the UK's stance with regards to F1/motorsports events.

Craig, I think you are a little wide of the mark, Putin sees territorial gain and resources, he does not see lives as important. He will rashly squander the lives of his own people without hesitation, the lives of others ? they don’t even figure in the equation.🇺🇦

Interesting article in the Telegraph at the moment suggesting that a lot of the Russians are working off analogue comms, which means they can be easily picked up by the Ukrainian forces and amateur alike - this has provided a lot of audio recordings. It sounds like the invasion is in total disarray.

It's behind a paywall, but I'll post the article on here if anyone wants to read it.

Just read this. How on earth 52 members did not support this is beyond me, seriously?! Would like to see a list of the countries that didn't support it.

BREAKING
UN condemns invasion and demands withdrawal
The UN General Assembly has voted in favour of a resolution condemning Russia's invasion and calling for it immediately to pull all of its forces out of Ukraine.

The resolution was supported by 141 of the body's 193 members at a rare emergency General Assembly session called by the UN Security Council.

Ahead of the vote, Ukraine's UN ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya said Russia had "come to deprive Ukraine of the very right to exist".

Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said Russia wanted to stop a separatist conflict in eastern Ukraine and accused the West of using "open and cynical threats" to get countries to vote for the resolution.

It is the assembly’s first emergency meeting since 1997.

Just reading BBC again and I think they messed up! Apparently they now say 141 votes to 5.

I think you messed up by misreading it, they never said 52 voted against.
193 members
141 for
5 against
35 abstain
Don't know what status the other 12 hold... presumably not present.

Thanks for clearing that up Ayrforce1. What significance the vote has in the grand scheme of things anyway I'm not sure of!

Well it's certainly not legally binding. But might be useful in influencing other decisions... it's certainly a complicated issue.

The BBC really should pull Clive and Lyce with the rest of the team from Kiev. Clive looks absolutely shattered on the 10:00 news.

I agree, time for them to come home, if they can that is..
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Sweden's military says that four Russian fighter jets (two Su-27s and two Su-24s) violated the country's airspace over the Baltic Sea earlier today.
