Think you'll find the LN marked ones are destined for AM, whereas the unmarked ones will be transferred to ANG units

Hi Mike,

thanks for reply, by AM you mean AMARG in Arizona ?? if so I am sad and happy for others.

You can tell me, how many are the unmarked ones???

Cheers,
Michele

Yes I meant AMARG (sorry, slip of the fingers). The previous post in the thread showed which ones have already gone Stateside and whether they are marked. I'm not sure exactly how many are still at LN, nor which ones are not marked with the LN tailcode. I know that 84-0015 and 84-0027 do not carry codes, and that 86-0164 and 86-0171 still have LN tailcode. But what others still remain and whether they carry codes or not I am unsure of.

I have the following noted as having had their markings removed.

84-0015
84-0027
84-0044
86-0156
86-0160
86-0165
86-0172 (special tail)
86-0175

84-0010, 86-0154 and 86-0163 all departed last year for PDM at Robins AFB so I assume they will be assigned to new units when they emerge.

Hi guys,

thanks for your replies, very useful.

Yes, the latter (84-0010, 86-0154, 86-0163) have been integrated into the 131st Fighter Squadron / 104th Fighter Wing, located at Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield, Massachusetts.

We await the redeployment of the others, I'm curious.

Cheers,
Michele

Hi Michele,
Has Barnes redeployed any of its existing Eagles either to another stateside unit or to AMARG? If so, which jets please?
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,

No, at the moment the 131st FS (MA) has 26 active aircraft of which the three mentioned above, arrived from Lakenheath.

In truth there would be one that has been canceled but is dated 2014 is 86-0157

Cheers,
Michele

Could they not keep the Special Tail at Lakenheath and preserve it in some way?

Thanks Michele,
Is F-15A 77-0104 on display there yet or is it still wrapped in white plastic?
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark, I can't answer that, but given the age of the jet I think it's somewhere to rest. :(

Thanks Michele. 77-0104 was parked up outside at Barnes all covered in white plastic awaiting it's time to be put on display there. One assumes that it is still waiting...

With three meant to have gone today but cancelled, how many would be left until the sad day of all gone?

14x F-15C/D still left with the 493rd, with three of those to depart in the next day or two (and one still out at Łask?).

Cheers for that LN Strike Eagle. Still plenty to hopefully see before they go then.
