Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross.

I usually wait until British Summer Time ends before wandering around London on a night shoot but as I was in King’s Cross Station with a bit of time to spare before my train home, I went for a Bimble around Coal Drops Yard, which is about a three minute walk from the station, to get in a bit of Low Light Photography practice.

Coal Drops Yard was originally built in 1850 to receive coal trains from South Yorkshire where the coal was then loaded onto narrowboats on the Regents Canal and into horse-drawn carts for distribution around London. Today it is a privately owned public space and is a dining and shopping complex.

Excellent shots of a great bit of London!

I had a wander around there in late summer 2019, it’s really impressive what they’ve done, I particularly liked the gas storage facilities they’ve turned into apartments.
