A 0000z departure time on a flightplan screams of "just stick a flightplan in so we have slots, even though we don't know the departure time yet" 😂

I wonder if the crew had been standing by the whole time? If so they must be pretty knacked by now.

0952L. I'm stood at the Marston Meysey end. One of the B-1's has its engines running. However, it looks as though it's purely maintenance, as they keep throttling up the two port side engines, like they did earlier on this morning before Stork flight departed.

The inevitable FPL cock up had them wasting fuel for 45 minutes at the Holding Point before finally escaping. At least the delay meant they departed in day light - just!

curious about 309.800, I take it that's over the horizon UHF (AM) comms?

The 0100L FPL was one of five that was filed on Friday, presumably as tests to ensure the route worked. Four were cancelled and for some reason one remained, which is the one that caused everyone to descend on Fairford in the middle of the night.

I said early on last night I wasn't convinced that they would go as this was just one of the tests that hadn't been cancelled. There were no aircrew, only ground crew with them until I left at around 0230L.

Of course, the irony is that when they needed a valid plan in the system this morning, they couldn't get one and ended up waiting for 45 minutes, as Graham said!

Do we have any ideas where they are at the moment? Are they still out or have they landed at SP? Thanks in advance
They laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at them because they are all the same....
