Was lucky last night, coming back from Holbeach range we hit the Shell garage on the A17 at West Lynn. They had received fuel the previous night. Had no queue, just drove straight to a pump and filled up. At least I can get the hire car back to Waltham Abbey now!

Apparently before Brexit 11% of HGV drivers in the UK were from the EU - this has reduced, but just to 10% so not too significant a reduction?

pumps capped at £30 per fuel, didn't stop people filling up jerry cans anyway

Decided to abort a petrol stop and get Toilet Rolls instead. Must think ahead and
all that. Madness all round but do we have too.
Troops coming in. As a tax payer, why should my Pongo help a private company
make profit ???

Because the media keep reporting it. Navigation app Waze added fuel availability to their notifications, PRA keeping banging on about things not getting better. So many agendas at play that we’re doomed.

The garages have got this wrong. Instead of limiting people to '£30 only' at the pumps, they should specify a MINIMUM of £30 only, to stop these people coming in for the odd 2 gallons. People will then come in only when they need it, and like the States, pay you're money before you can pump!.

Well said, it should be a minimum of £30 spend at the pumps, and no cans to be filled, the legal amount of fuel you can store is 30 litres in an approved container and in cool conditions without sources of ignition

My brother who is HGV trained (retired) got a letter the other day from DVLA asking if he would like to do a bit of driving due to the 'crisis' and effects of Covid

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

I am afraid I must disagree. A maximum of £30 yes, that would help to reduce the greed of some; a minimum of £30 will only serve to make the supply run out again.
