Strange sounding jet

Post by Vulture 01 » Mon Sep 20, 2021 1:52 pm

Walking along the seafront at Gorleston around 1345 I saw a jet coasting in, heading west. It caught my attention for two reasons.
First it was very hard to see it - all I could make out was a vague grey shape.
Second it was making a very strange grinding/grumbling noise. This then stopped as soon as the jet was slightly inland. This was when I lost sight of it.

Anyone else seen/heard it and can confirm what it was.

BTW I don't claim it was an Aurora or any one of those exotic things. Probably just an F15 with indigestion......

Although unlikley an F22 ,was it similar to this? F35's Are very 'Throaty' in my opinion.

I can confirm hearing unidentified jet noise as I was strolling along the beach at…. Gorleston. However, I did not see them but considered the sound to be at least a pair of jets.

I was in and around Wittering area late this morning and heard something similar. Nothing seen, and nothing over the airfield

the F22 video did not have the crackling, rumbling that i heard
