Re: Stansted September 2021
It was viewable from the 'Ash pub footpath' last evening but it was moved a bit around 8pm, not sure if it's still visible now but I am going over this evening on my way to the Air-Britain Stansted branch meeting so will have a look for it.

Re: Stansted September 2021
where have they moved it to please? I was there last evening from 17.15 until 20.00 and it was no longer visible from the Ash pub footpath and it didn't depart while I was at Belmer road. The daily SBS logs on the Stansted google group don't show it as departing either so it must be hiding elsewhere.
Yesterday evening there was a civil S.92 parked where it was on Monday although they moved it slightly during the evening and an all black Gulfstream and a Netjets Citation roughly where the An.124 was parked on Monday.
I'd be interested to know as there are people coming from far and wide to try to see it.

Re: Stansted September 2021
I've been told by people on the airport that it is still there but tucked up tight against Harrods and only visible from airside. It's due out Fridayandygolfer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 6:47 amwhere have they moved it to please? Re: Stansted September 2021
okay thanks but you shouldn't be going in the business park, there is a big sign saying no enthusiasts and ANPR cameras that check who enters so be careful.
I just stay out of there to be safe and get what I can from the Ash footpath

Hmm! So it's OK to ignore the signage because a spotter says you can. That's really going to help our hobby - not!

Re: Stansted September 2021
I think it means right hand side of the hangar. As for which hangar it should be the Fayair hangar which is the middle one of the three viewed from the ash pub footpath

Re: Stansted September 2021
Any further timings regarding the USCG C37 departure tomorrow? TIA
Re: Stansted September 2021
Yes, I was told earlier today that it is scheduled to leave at 17:30 tomorrow. All the usual caveats apply as anything government related can sometimes change at short notice. As the sun will be round by then a good place to photograph it might be alongside the runway past the Ash pub near the Ops tower, although it does depend upon which direction they are departing.

Re: Stansted September 2021
That's a good suggestion, known by the locals as Belmer Road. Go past the Ash pub and follow the road round to the left at the junction, round some bends to the straight section alongside the trees - you can park along there and walk through onto the bank. Best spot is to head west towards the old control tower to a mound in front of the radar mast, that's where I took the arrival pics. It is definitely worth taking a set of steps at least 1.5m high to avoid the fence getting in your pics. With the forecast wind they will be taking of on 22 so from left to right and will be close to rotation when they pass. There is another small mound about 250m further along but it's a bit uneven although the fence is a bit lower, it gets crowded if there are more than 4 people there!
If you go onto the Air-Britain Stansted website there's a spotting guide that I wrote a few years back, that has maps which will help a bit more
