Lakenheath Runway 24 24/6

Post by slogen51 » Thu Jun 24, 2021 6:18 am

07:15 ATIS saying 24 in use

( I see the field at the forest entrance is now properly fenced off - you would need to be Colin Jackson off a long run to get over the barbed wire in one piece)

I saw someone on Instagram mention that the gate was removed yesterday. Is the fence tall enough to get in the way of photos as they land?

The fence is the same height. No issue for photos.

As mentioned fence is waste height but topped with fresh barbed wire - keep the kids and your coat away from it

What is the status of that field ? Thought it was heathland that could be fenced twice a year for livestock.

No idea tbh. I tend to use it if and when other people do, not least because it's safer than being stood on the side of a busy A road.

And whats the status of the road leading upto the viewing area. Are cars still parking on the side of the road there?
Wasn’t there talk of logs being put alongside the road so we couldn’t park there,or something like that.

Hi Clive , hope you made it to Marham in time

I heard the land was 'owned' by the Guinness family ? But that doesn't mean they own all the rights to access and use

It doesn't bother me either way but historical people have gone in to that field for as long as I can remember.
