Modelling Ways...

Post by Flyingmonster » Tue Nov 02, 2010 11:03 am

Hi Chaps!

As we are all modellers on here I thought it would be a good idea to see how you go about your builds :thumb: do you have the telly on, listen to music etc :thumb:

I myself have a bit of music on (Typically Heavy Metal ) and the Computer for reference use and FC haha and I have the bad habit of having a Brew near by to :thumb:

How about you guys? :thumb:
Cheers

I always have some lecture notes and work on the desk - stuff that's been pushed out of the way when I get bored!

Other than that, lots of Tea, and a film.

Silence.

I've tried the radio / TV but its still distracting.

I'll have the laptop/iPhone handy though.

Though tbh I hate the current setup I've got. I can't wait for my sister to move out so I can get her room! and hopefully a new desk to go with...

I like your style dude, Ive got some sepultura and motorhead if you want something soothing to build to

I tend to just have my scanner on listening to the hall/heath and a brew on the go. I like a bit of piece and quiet when Im building so I can concentrate otherwise things get a bit messy

I'm usually sat at my desk in the spare room, Steve Wright on R2 on the laptop iplayer and plastic dust covering the laptop and all my papers, books and magazines as usual. Or if it's evening the telly's on in the bedroom so I can dash in if anything interesting comes on... which of course it never does, so I just break off to watch Family Guy or American Dad for the zillionth time!

Actually I've put most of the kits back in the loft for a while so that I can't distract myself from getting more work done!

Usually I have my build on my pc desk, and usually listen to music, or watch videos/dvd's to tie in with the build.

So I'm building a cat I've been listening to the Top Gun OST, and I've been watching Final Countdown.

It interesting how we all do it! :thumb: I must admit that I like to watch videos/films with the aircraft in! Some times it makes it seem to come to life

I usually have 5 live on if there is a game on; either that or my ipod. can';t work in the quiet! I did have a pS2 in the shed but managed to use thatmore than building model kits.

I also need to get the scanner aerial diverted from the top of the house to the Shed so I can get the Base scanner back on.

Tonight's session involved a few cups of coffee and the laptop by my side for reference and rocking out to some internet radio stations :thumb:

Usually abit of Classic FM or Planet Rock on the radio or listening to a couple of Alice In Chains, Maiden, Paradise Lost CD's etc etc :thumb: . If not it's listening to the scanner, drinking lots of tea, and checking my computer and books for references.

Trouble is I spend more time looking at me references than getting the models done , but hey ho.

Brilliant! Some great ways there! :thumb: Seems there is a varied style on here!
Is it wrong that I sometimes insist on wearing a Hat when I model?
