RAF Waddington airshow 2011

Post by cottesmore09 » Thu Oct 14, 2010 12:37 am

Well will the 2011 show see Waddington be home to the Red Arrows and could 2011 beat the 2010 show?

One fact is that the ticket prices have increased, being £20 advanced (Adult) +£2 increase and on the day being £26 (Adult) +£5 i think :S . The big increase if people are planning to pay on the day  .

What do you think about the increase and the 2011 show to be?

Thanks, Cott09

I will be getting advanced tickets so not worried about that. Im am looking forward to the Reds beings based there - Hope to see some interesting formations possibly?? I hope they can maybe get some more fast jets or the B52 again - I would love it if there was a B1!!! But anything along the lines of 2010 would be grand! :thumb: :thumb:

Maybe the increase in the 'on the day' price is meant to encourage advanced tickets so they can plan parking and traffic management better?

Surely it's relevant now if they've just announced hiked the prices. The fact that it's 9 months away doesn't preclude discussion does it?

OK, so that doesn't really answer my question does it?

I'm now genuinely interested in why you disagree so fervently about other members offering their opinions on this subject that you would go so far as belittle those comments already made.

Or is it just a Waddington thing? I see no similar comment on the RIAT thread...

The main point for me to start this thread now was because of the new prices being announced, if people would like to put what they want to see next year thats fine, if some of you think its too early to be talking about next years show then wait untill May/June arrives before you comment and allow the ones who would like to talk about the 2011 show now do so .

I say its never too early to start thinking of the next show, people were talking about 2011 show a day or two after the show finished!

I hope they get some good jets in for next year's show and i will be getting the advanced ticket aswell, i hope the park and veiw stays at £5 though :D

Thanks, Cott09

Unless a someone has alot of money Waddington wont be getting the Vulcan to help raise the attendance next year :'(

Unless another big star is found then i say 50-70,000 being the attendance not the 100,000 they have been receiving when people thought or knew the Vulcan was flying.

My kind of thinking  As for ticket priceing an extra £2.00 on last year is,nt a significant hike in my eyes and it,s still cheaper than a night out in Sheffield including the travel cost,s.Needless to say i will be there and will be buying my tickets advance as useuall.

Re: Price Increases - don't forget VAT rises in January to 20% (2.5% rise.) Waddington will be paying a lot more for everything that it has to "buy" in such as toilets etc. I doubt Waddington will be the only show having to increase gate prices for 2011.

That did slip my mind  , thanks for bringing it to light. The Advance tickets are good deal, but i would not want to pay the on the day price knowing there cheaper in advance
