Re: Aviano F-16 Deployment?
Any ideas what that would mean for an ETA?

I would say from 1000L onwards for the first cell (at a pure guess)

Re: Aviano F-16 Deployment?
Can anyone point me at a Lakenheath map online that shows which ramps and taxiways are which please? Neither the pb-photos map nor the thunder-and-lightning map/viewing guide (both of which are otherwise excellent resources) are marked with these.Post by jesmenras » Thu Aug 27, 2020 8:11 pm
Amongst others, Lakenheath has the following NOTAM's in effect at the moment:
Active: Permanent: TAXIWAY QUEBEC CLOSED. 2008200801-PERM
Active, expires in 3 months: ALL PARKING ON CHARLIE RAMP SOUTH CLOSED FOR AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS 2008270845-2011152359
Active, expires in 3 months: ALL PARKING ON CHARLIE RAMP NORTH CLOSED FOR AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS. 2008181020-2011152359
Active, expires in a month: VICTOR RAMP/VICTOR TAXI ADJACENT TO VICTOR RAMP CLOSED. 2007081132-2010082359
Active, expires in 15 days: TAXI TRACK SIERRA CLOSED FROM TAXI TRACK YANKEE NORTH TO TAXI TRACK YANKEE SOUTH. 2006150600-2009111600
So, both Charlie and Victor Ramp is currently closed. So on the South side it is either the vacant shelters (492nd SQ is in the Middle East) or Alpha Ramp.
As Quebec is permanently closed, there is no parking available on the north side.

Hi Roger4.
I have found a map in this document: https://static.e-publishing.af.mil/prod ... 13-201.pdf
There are two editions, one from 2014 and one from 2017.
The document from 2017 is titled: AIRFIELD OPERATIONS PROCEDURES
In the document, Attachment 3, on page 88, you will see an airfield diagram with the ramp names.
That is the most up-to-date i have been able to find.

Also, if you look at RAF Lakenheaths Facebook page, there is a post from 14 August describing the handover from construction to 48 FW of the Alpha ramp after the extension as part of the construction work in preparation for the arrival of the F-35A in late 2021. Alpha ramp now have room for both the full F-15E squadrons. As is already known, the F-15C/D will be replaced by F-35As. The post contain this youtube link to a video describing the construction work: https://youtu.be/0ut772EuccM

Good morning jesmenras,
Just what I was after, thank you.
The static.e-publishing.af.mil website is a new one for me, and one that is a significant resource for this sort of info for all USAF bases worldwide. I have no doubt I will delve into it often.

Re: Aviano F-16 Deployment?
Does anyone know if the f16s can be seen from the golf course side of airfield?
Re: Aviano F-16 Deployment?
How do you find other e-static AIRFIELD OPERATIONS PROCEDURES, have tried a Google search and various versions of the Lakenheath link, but no joy.
Re: Aviano F-16 Deployment?
I stopped briefly by the crash gate on the A1065 road on Sunday, You could see several tails of the F16's but due to the angle none could be identified. if you went into the field opposite you might get a bit more height which might enable the view to be improved. I didn't stop for long as the road is very busy. I did however identify 3 F15's which were visible along from the F16's on the same ramp.
You can see and easily identify any that are on the A ramp from Maids Hill but it requires a good telescope and i imagine it would be tricky if there is any heat haze.
I walked over Maids Hill from the car park and it is quite a walk but the view over the base is very good and it is very quiet.
Regards
Brian
