Will be down for this next Wednesday and Thursday, hopefully they turn up and the weather plays ball!

Does much happen on a Friday or is flying usually finished by lunchtime?

Cheers

Yes Flinty that would be good, but are visitors still not allowed through the Loop? I noticed an F16 pilot posted on a Mach Loop page on Facebook that he hopes to visit soon! Maybe on holiday!!?? Or in his F16!!? 😂

Usually JJC F-15s are done just after lunch but may change with deployments you never know! Good luck :)

Recalling a FOI form I read, ‘foreigners’ can only loop if part of an exercise so they should be ok. Whether they actually do it is another question of course!

*Edit* I found the form, the relevant wording was as follows...
Non-UK based aircraft should be prohibited from using the Loop unless part of a UK exercise.

Aircraft, except for specific training sorties, should be prohibited from flying the complete loop.

Will the F-16's be parked in hard stands while at LH, is there capacity or will they be parked around the back securely?. Asking with Photography in mind due to not knowing the arrival time at the moment.
Thanks for any help..

According to the Scramble site 18 Avianos are due to arrive at LN on Fri 28th (510th FS - Buzzards). Didn't say how long the deployment would last. Any ideas ?

A local may know different, but I would think with jets deployed (can't remember which sqd - 492nd?) there is plenty of space south side.

Can't remember any TDYs using the north side since the A10s from Spang around 2005.

Actually the Italian incidence rate is 17.9 / 100,000 where as the UK is 22.9 / 100,000...ironically they're at more risk here than home.

Provided they stay well away from the fence line they should be OK!

Could the F-35 building work limit the space on the normal visitor ramp? (Fingers crossed!)

Amongst others, Lakenheath has the following NOTAM's in effect at the moment:
Active: Permanent: TAXIWAY QUEBEC CLOSED. 2008200801-PERM
Active, expires in 3 months: ALL PARKING ON CHARLIE RAMP SOUTH CLOSED FOR AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS 2008270845-2011152359
Active, expires in 3 months: ALL PARKING ON CHARLIE RAMP NORTH CLOSED FOR AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS. 2008181020-2011152359
Active, expires in a month: VICTOR RAMP/VICTOR TAXI ADJACENT TO VICTOR RAMP CLOSED. 2007081132-2010082359
Active, expires in 15 days: TAXI TRACK SIERRA CLOSED FROM TAXI TRACK YANKEE NORTH TO TAXI TRACK YANKEE SOUTH. 2006150600-2009111600

So, both Charlie and Victor Ramp is currently closed. So on the South side it is either the vacant shelters (492nd SQ is in the Middle East) or Alpha Ramp.
As Quebec is permanently closed, there is no parking available on the north side.
