Post by baz1 » Thu Jul 30, 2020 6:58 pm

strange thing happened today I have an HP compaq Desktop booted it up this morning and it was taking ages to access FC running slow and locking up then all of a sudden up pops a Notification from HP ??( saying are you having problems turn on audio }which I ignored, then the next thing to appear on screen was a PC cleaner download to scan and fix problems I did that just to see what would as it appeared legit it completed scan with a whole load of problems then of course you have to buy a key code to sort it i'm wondering if this site is linked to HP ??
anyone else had this problem just struck me as very odd. uninstalled program all seems normal again

Switch off your computer. Stand well back. Wash your hands. Disconnect your computer from the internet (unplug any cables or switch off your Wi-Fi router). Power it on and scan your PC using the latest anti-malware software you can find (transfer the installation files from one PC to another in advance using an USB stick if you can etc.).

I've been using Malwarebytes for years and find it to be excellent, my subscription is due in a couple of weeks time and it's £17.95 for the next 12 months.

Another vote for Malwarebytes - top piece of kit. Its the only thing you need, and you can probably get it on a free trial for a month or two
