What is the policy for driving a long distance to go spotting during Covid-19 phase 2?
I think you can now drive anywhere for the day and return home in that same day - is that correct?

It might be sensible to fill up locally near your home so that you can make the return journey without having to visit a petrol station in say Suffolk for example where the R could be higher than at home or vice versa?

Just asking the question and fishing for opinion - I personally would love to visit Heathrow but will hang on until phase 3

Tell the coppers your name is Dominic

And you have forgotten your wife and child, that should do the trick.

Take a bottle because it’s illegal to have a wee in a public place such as a lay-by

Since people are obviously going out spotting now, is the ban on photography still on, and if it is, does it only apply to UK locations?
The embargo on posting photos taken at UK airfields has been lifted now on FC and CA has reluctantly followed suit with it's 'sister' forum. The lockdown rules are completely different in England compared to the rest of the UK, so please be careful and observe the rules wherever you live.

I drove from Manchester to Mildenhall very early on the bank holiday Monday… had a full tank of diesel so did not stop at any point on the way down.. once there did not see another soul.. did not use any local facilities then drove back with no stops and re filled at my local garage.. all legal I think under the latest rules and it was just great to get out on the road again (and in great weather).. and the new A14 is all complete and open (8 months ahead of schedule) which was good.. and a cheap trip out as fuel prices are at a lowest price in years… still lots of caution (all M6 services were open but did not think a good idea to visit).

I take it that hand washing and sanitising facilities have been installed in Folly Road

I think stinging nettles and dock leaves do the job nicely!

Pending today's arrivals in to Lakenheath & the glorious weather I'm guessing it will be rather busy there at certain times today. It will interesting to see how well 'social distancing' is going to be observed , especially among the photographers, all vying for the same spot to get "the photo " .

Have fun folks and stay safe.

Hopefully the boys in blue will keep it under control and move people on. In the East of England they have the lowest rate of infection, so stay away.

Yes it is - people are distancing - it's just a lot for some jets that were here in October

I'd expect as most people are usually in work during the week they're taking the opportunity to get them now. Not everyone can make it up midweek for every interesting movement.

Careful Slogen. One could ask why are you at Lakenheath to see aircraft that you saw there in October. Don't stick the chin out too far.
