Special Hobby 1/32 CT-133

Post by PaulN » Sun May 24, 2020 12:51 pm

Hi
More day glo Kevin

The very nice Special Hobby CT-133 made straight out of the box , and with Belcher bits decals for a VU-33 machine at Comox BC

Made this really to see how "shiney" I could get my own concoction to work by polishing it with a soft cloth , before it rubbed away..took a couple of goes , but got it to work , day-glo is Plasti-Kote

Thanks for looking

Paul :thumb:

Another superb build Paul, I’ve just been looking through all your recent posts, what a stunning collection you have.
The standard of these is Second to none.

Fantastic finish yet again - your display shelves must be groaning under the weight! I've seen a few French T-33s in day glo, but never a Canadian example. When you dsay Plastikote Paul, do you use an aerosol can or do they do a type you can apply using your airbrush?

Thanks Patrick :thumb: .....might have a few for you later :ninja:

Thanks greenbat , most kind

Thanks Kevin  It the loft thats creaking , most go up there in boxes , never to be seen again  Re Plasti-kote it used to come in jars then they changed to they aerosols :grr: so now what I do , and its the same for Halfords paint as well , I decant it into 2oz badger airbrush jars , that then go straight onto the bottom of my Badger 200 , they have screw tops so the decanted paint is air tight so lasts for ages , to decant the paint I use a funnel straight into the jar , then spray the paint from the can into the jar via the funnel , until its full..job done it then sprays much nicer through the airbrush . I hope that makes sense and helps :S Make sure yo decant in an open or well ventilated space , can be a bit messy at first , but once yoiu get the hang of the pressure in the can , it can be done without much mess

Cheers

Hi Kevin

Forget to say yes the CAF CT-133s were in that scheme here is a pic I took of one , there are a few more on there as well at Tyndal

Paul

I didn't think for one moment that you were! Thanks for the pic. I only ever went to one Canadian show, London in 1993, and although I saw a couple of Silver Stars that day they were both in the camouflage scheme.

Cheers

Kevin
