Nope, you were correct with Bach, you just need to expand on it.

“his final work or near enough”

This is fiendish

So this could be a sounds like answer

According to Google Bach's last work translates to the Art of Fuge ?

Or is it more simple - final work - end job etc?

Sembach

Final or near enough = semi
Couldn’t see eye to eye = sem
Composer that couldn’t see= Bach

= Sembach

Well done Slogen :thumb:

I got the Bach bit but I didnt get the Semi ( if you would pardon the expression!)

It was just a shot in the dark.

Another one - probably not that challenging

You wouldn't be surprised to see the dude Ali at this USAF base!

Unfortunately...no.

Good try though, but doesn't fit the clue on two counts.

Was a cutter - Saw , Axe as in Shaw AFB but the h doesn't fit

Wondering if this is a more traditional cryptic clue where the first part surrounds the cutter .....saw.. , ....axe...etc

The back keyword suggests a word backwords

(I thought Cutter was a barber and direct was point hence barbers point)
