May not be connected but a Omni Air Express N828AX B-777-200 AB4EA9 OAE559 landed at Whiteman AFB / Knob Noster , MO about 1.5 Hours ago , so this may be heading out later today or tomorrow to Fairford .

Most likely then
I have amended the title of the thread as a deployment of B2s is now highly likely at some point.

Omni Air - N828AX - CMB557 - Departed Whiteman AFB.
Seen On Freedar Just West Of Ottawa.

Unsure If Direct To Fairford Or Via Prestwick Like Today's Flight.

How are we going to play this one out regards posting information, are we doing daily threads within this section or the Fairford section?

What if all info is posted within this section first and foremost with a daily link in the Fairford one?

Hopefully the thread doesn’t get filled up with the constant question of ‘does anybody know when the bombers are arriving?’!

I was thinking a thread for support flights which I have already created and then the regular daily NOTAM threads once the bombers arrive. A daily link to the fairford section could be a good idea and the odd U2 movement isn't going to be to much to handle. After all the U2s are also on deployment to fairford.

There is no solution, people moan whatever we (the staff) try. We discuse it everytime there is a deployment, yet we can't think of an easy solution, that will appease everyone. Having the U-2s on deployment didnt help.

Going back to just having the info posted in the Fairford section isn't an option, as that just causes info to be posted multiple times in different locations and then it gets messy and arguments start.

If you notice this section had a name a while ago, from bomber deployment to Fairford deployment 2020. Because one of the ideas was to have everything bombers and U-2s in this section.

Personally, I view the U-2s as based aircraft and as such believe their movements should be posted about in the Fairford section with a daily Notam thread (As they already are)

Then have all Bomber tracking and info kept separate in its own dedicated forum, here, whilst the deployment is on.

Having a mix of bomber and U-2 movements was a confusing mess last October. Yes, this may lead to a Notam being posted in both the Fairford section and in the daily tracking thread in the bomber section, but if we can all keep that separated between U-2 ops and Bomber ops I think it can work.

A locked relavent info thread could be of some use?

although its mod dependent and intensive.

locked thread linking out to daily relevent threads (can be split to U2 abd B2).
with say an hourly or 2 hourly update..

doesn't have to be long... just:
-notam
-num of aircraft getting ready/up/returned
-callsign
-direction

that info, even if 2 hours out of date, would cover about 60% of the bloat
of people dropping into the threads and trying to catch up

Its a bit high maintenance but it could work, Thunder has already started a daily log post in this section which he is hoping to keep up to date (Thanks Thunder)

Maybe it could be updated briefly when certain key info is known (such as which aircraft is up, at what time and under what callsign) some time after launch. I would be happy to help out with this when possible, if its something others think is worth doing. That would be the only way of going about a rolling update type of thread though, I don't want to add anymore new topics than there already is.

Notam thread in the Fairford section.
Bomber tracking thread in this deployment section.
Deployment log thread.

Just having a think about this issue and I believe I have come up with a sort of solution to please all
1. A NOTAM thread is created in the fairford section with a link to this (deployment section and then locked)
2. A Daily NOTAM thread is created here in the deployment section for all movements.
3. Once the daily thread has been created here the owner of the thread IE the person that posts the NOTAM can underneath there post have an update area. Sort of like this multiple aircraft airborne of the same type can be represented as below.

NOTAM 15/3/19
Last Updated 12:30
Movements
B2:
Callsign: Death 11
Current location:
Dep:
Arr:
Freq (last heard)
Callsign: Death 12
Current location:
Dep:
Arr:
Freq (last heard)
U2:
Callsign:
Current location:
Dep:
Arr:
Freq (last heard)
All updates can be posted under the title of the thread with the creator of the thread updating there original post and for those who like there frequencies a last heard frequency can be added. I feel this way information can be pooled more easily and then be centralised in the first post of a thread. This will also reduce the time it takes to read the whole thread and instead just read the top post for updated information. Those that want more sophisticated information IE: Where was it at 12:00 can read the thread to see if other uses have posted relevant information.
My suggestion is try this for the first mission of the sortie and see how it goes if it's bad then back to the drawing board.

Very well Done! I think that should work very well, adding the frequency is very useful also I think it's layout is very easy to read and pick out Information you need.

Thanks I guess we will give that a go. First attempt will be when they leave Whiteman.

In theory it should work but an issue I can see with that layout is everyone will be relying on the original poster being on line and monitoring both the airwaves and updating FC for the duration of the movements, which can last as long as 15hrs(22hrs one deployment).
