Earlier in July I went to the arms forum called "Army" at Patriot Park just outside of Moscow. I spent most of my time at Kubinka Air Base but if I'm honest I went mostly for departure days mainly to catch what I call the aviation holy trinity, the Tu-22M3 "Backfire," Tu-160 "Blackjack" & the Tu-95MS "Bear" take off. In the end I got neither of them but at least it gives me another reason to go back out there. There were 2 main show days that I went to with poor weather being present at both, it was meant to be 3 but the weather was even worse on the first day & there was no flying whatsoever. These pics are from the second day of flying in which the weather was much better, it was only half a show in reality but still had some cool aircraft & some superb displays in them, the Ka-52 probably my highlight;
Here are the shots from the 2 departure days, pretty much everything that was on static departed except the bombers as I've mentioned, the An-148 & we missed the Il-76MD90A as well. Weather was very good on the most part as you'll see & there was some lovely surprises as well, especially the Tu-134A-3 & OC-135B that rocked up.
WOW the Russians defiantly know how to put on a show.Thanks for posting these photos.
