Happy Hog-many

Post by jetnoise » Mon Dec 30, 2019 9:08 am

Apologies to any Scottish FC'ers, but I couldn't resist the pun.
I thought I'd post a few shots of the BRRRRT machine taken durng a recent trip stateside. It's hard to realise that these quirky looking jets were once a common sight in the UK.
I wish everyone all the best for 2020, and hope you like the photos

Very nice and nostalgic pics, thanks for posting. I live in East Anglia and certainly remember the whine of the A10 engines and seeing them suddenly pop-up over a hill! Happy New Year to you too.

I love the title. A fine set of snaps, too! ;)

Donkeys years ago, I was on my way to work in Wisbech, way out in the Fens, it was the time when farmers were still allowed to burn stubble. A wide Fen sky, multiple plumes of thick grey smoke, when along came two A-10s. Did they have fun?
Flashed the headlights at 'em & along they came, low - very low. Of course, no camera, over an hour late for work but I still have the scene in my mind.

Thanks for posting

Mustang , back in '70s-'80s . Think it was The kestrel ? Now The Countryman , A140 , Tasburgh , South of Naarwich.. outside having an half outside with my dad [ was home on days off ] . Lovely whine and a pair flew out of the Tas valley Northbound underneath us ....
South Naarfick plateau , near where I went to the ' Highest skool in Naarfick ' , I'm proud to say 200 ft AMSL.
