There's no "go-round" in a glider.

Top to bottom. "Twinkle, twinkle, little stars". Merry Christmas

This shows 4 catching the sunlight on their port wing; one doesn't. Tighter formation.

Reds 2-5 are all new this season, 2-4 are brand new and 5 is returning after damaging his leg in a football incident during winter training last year. They seem to be still practicing basic loops and rolls in the standard battle formation, seem to think they were further on this than last year? Possibly due to 4 newbies or did training start later after the US tour?

I've enjoyed watching them from home whilst off this week, hopefully will get up early next year.

Beautiful shots, the light this time of year works wonders.

The pilot swap is normally around mid-October, but this year was late November.

Nice shots!

Thank you for your comments.
Based on my previous ten years of winter training snapping, this year is very different. As said, late start and four new people not helped by the weather.

There are about forty Flickr snaps capturing the progress from raw beginnings to the final polished nine. Duel and solo tight circuits with high angle finals and powering off without touching down.

If you study [look at the wing plans] the following shots, you should see the relationships between the manoeuvering of the individual aircraft. Two illustrate Mike's point about Battle formation.
