It's not all about numbers so I have been told.

Great info' as to why Fairford is probably not worth visiting today. Given that these lightweights aren't able to carry bombs & rockets one is left to wonder what the military connection is? Could be they all nearly got sucked into a B2 when the bombers flew without a Notam??
Update:- Good news about engines running on B2 89-0129 (Georgia). Potential re-enactment for the Local paper & 'Big-Jet VT' (yep! ='Virtual Tripe'!) :'(
It was well worth the visit, but I guess it depends which side of the fence you are eh?
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

There was a family day today I believe for families of people based there. 75 years or something ?

Today was to celebrate the airfield being 75th Years young and an invited guest list of those connected to the base in the past as well as locals who have supported the base over the years. A nice enjoyable event with some good displays detailing the bases history and American burgers and Mountain Dew as well.

Why does there have to be a military connection? today was about the airfields 75th Anniversary, it has an interesting and proud history which goes back a long way, not just since the B-2’s arrived!

Notam or not, one doesn't 'normally' expect info' about a shitload of civvies making the news on Fighter Control really? Surely a separate Topic of "Fairford 75th", unless we're sinking to UKAR standards of reporting every spam-can with a roundel on it?

May as well list the spam cans to make the list look bigger, as the frequently rumoured F15s and osprey didn't show up!

Well said, a very good few hours; it seems this group is descending into the sarcastic, facebook type comments, which is very sad, juvenile and pathetic.
I suspect a little jealousy at not getting an invite too ;)
