Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
I don't remember that many around when I went up for the TFM although it was probably a weekend as I was working
Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
I think social media has a lot to answer for in things like this.
It was very civilized the whole time the Indians were here, but it was just after the airshow, so that may have some bearing on it.
Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
When the TFM was on the police was expecting a load of CND but when they saw all the spotters it made the job easy for then and all had a good time and got a thank you from the police hope this happens this time ps we had no WAVE at the time and parking where you park safely
Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions

Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
The WAVE will be open at 7am from 28th August until end of the exercise. With no queuing or parking on the A15 be best not to arrive before then. Raf and civil police will be patrolling and moving people on.
No doubt there will be some who choose to ignore this, and que on the a15 and the grass verges.

Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
The WAVE have just posted images of a flyer made for the upcoming exercise.
Summary below.
No ladders around/near/against the fence line at any point around the base. (this looks to be on the base side of the A15 as well).
No drones obviously.
You can stand on the verges, but no ladders on the base side of the A15 by looks of it.
They are also charging £5 per person entry.

Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
What to ? The base or just the car park ?
Dave.
Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
The WAVE car park, Dave.
Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
I thought the wave carpark was opened for the public to park whilst viewing the airctaft and it just so happens to have a burger van in the corner (like most viewing areas) so how come the person at the burget van can milk the peeps coming in their cars and does it need a proper licence to operate a paying carpark

The money is going to pay for the toilet facilities being cleaned and emptied due to the volume of people. The reaming money is going to charity.
No one moaned at the £5 charge the base used to put on for airshow arrival, and most people walked out and stood on the road side anyway, so whats the difference?

Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
From the WAVE FB group :-
"The £5 charge is not going into our pockets at The WAVE. It has been implemented by the base and out of our hands, but monies will be going to the hire of extra toilets and the RAF Benevolent Fund."

Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
The difference being this aint an airshow. All there will be is 3 different types of aircraft possibly and you can see 2 of them types for free in this country. Exercises happen all the time but now the RAF want to cash in. They never charged at coningsby.reaper493 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 11:20 amThe money is going to pay for the toilet facilities being cleaned and emptied due to the volume of people. All I've done is passed on info guys.
You may not like it, your options are go and pay, or don't go. Simples.

Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
Why does it matter?
There's an exercise team on base, and a few of them are members of the wave group on Facebook its come from them.
