I left at 12.30, went back to my car in the BLUE park and thought I'd be out inside of two minutes. But the traffic marshalls didn't have a clue what they were doing, and waved me, plus the two cars behind me along a long run of tarmac that went absolutely nowhere, so the three of us turned around, yet as we approached the same two marshalls, they waved us back in the direction we'd just come from. I pulled up alongside one of them and asked him if he could direct us to an actual exit and all he said was, "I've already done that", which proves beyond doubt that the organisers were employing village idiots as marshalls, or at least, these two. Fortunately, a military chap waved at us all, and sent us where we should have been directed in the first place. Then once out of the field, I turned left along a single track lane only to find cars coming the other way en route to the car park I'd just vacated, lots of pulling right over onto the verge in order that cars could pass each other. You couldn't turn right onto that lane as it ended at a dead end by the crash gates where the visiting B-52's usually park up. A shambles really.

Each to their own naturally but why would anyone take that opinon? A beautiful old aircraft that more than earned her keep in WW11, a flying memorial to all the brave bomber crews who never made it home

Best thing about yesterday was the fact the Lancaster couldn't make it.. :thumb:

Seeing as my late Grandfather was ex Lancaster air crew he was a W/OP. I take offence to that remark.

Just gave my opinion about it. The BBMF demo takes too much time at an airshow like RIAT in my eyes. I respect what the crews and the Lancs did, didn't want to hurt anyones feelings with my remark.

For information if I remember the photo buses stopped around the time the 2 Migs met and one came pretty close to a bus as they used to run when the display was on.Correct me if wrong.
Used to be great going slowly up and down the lines of display aircraft and spares as long as you did not go too early as some used to still have covers on with always a wave from the aircrews some of which used to cag a lift back to the static area.
Those were the days.before ticket only, you could pick Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather, display was the same more or less both days and very little in the way of fun fairs etc.and you did not really know what was taking part until you arrived on the field.
