Hyakuri - February

Post by BDL » Fri Apr 26, 2019 1:39 pm

Managed to tick off another one of my Bucket List trips back in February when I finally managed to get out to Japan and Hyakuri.

Had a cracking time with COAP, thanks Rich and Steve. Was such a short trip but thoroughly worthwhile. If you have a chance to go there, then go, it's such a great place to view movements.

Here's a few, more on my Flickr and on my (poor excuse for a) website.

Sadly, this was the only view of the "special" jets we had

We were also treated to a QRA scramble as the Russians "probed" Japanese defences on the Friday, the QRA jets returned late in fading light.

Certainly three of the best days I've spent on a fence anywhere and with such great company as well. As I said, if you get the chance to go, GO! Also be adventurous and explore Tokyo, the place is just mind blowing!

Hope you enjoy, as ever C&C welcomed, though be gentle please.

Great set. We didn't get a Phantom QRA launch but when in Naha we had 6 QRA F-15 launches during the course of the day.
Can't wait to go back.

I'm hoping that I can do Naha next time - Looks like Japanese have been very busy recently thanks to the Chinese and Russians
