Typhoons to Estonia

Coningsby have sent Typhoons to Estonia today, had the NATO OTAN logo on the tail
Today, Typhoons from RAF Coningsby flew to Estonia in support of NATO operations.
The four aircraft flew to Amari Air Base to take part in the Baltic Air Policing mission, a four-month detachment that sees RAF aircraft patrol the eastern flank of the NATO alliance.

Is the NATO logo a recent move as I’ve never seen it before? I wonder if the jets will have the meteor or amraam missile?

The logo looks like its going to be applied to a number of jets from various air arms this year, the Canadian Cf-18 solo display has it under the cockpit.

Given that it’s celebrating the 70th anniversary of NATO in 2019 I’d suggest it’s a pretty recent thing!

Jets were badged up just before they deployed.
