Thank you RAF Marham for including the former RAE Bedford in Wednesday's tour - a fitting tribute to the work carried out there in support of the Tornado programme; great memories of ZA326 and a camo'd Tonka from BAe (can't remember the serial) bashing the circuit back in the day. Also, heading from there to Cranfield should take the flight either just to the north of Bedford town or over the town itself, home to the Aircraft Research Association's wind tunnels which were heavily used in connection with Tornado aerodynamic testing.

Wish I could make it to RAE Bedford on Wednesday, but I'm thousands of miles away, so I'll be up and about for 0530-0545 (eight hours behind here) and will be at my old 'local' in spirit. Good luck to all those involved at Marham, both in the air and on the ground; I hope it all goes to plan. Likewise to all those who will be travelling to wherever on whichever day to watch the flyovers at the various locations - I hope the weather plays ball for all concerned.

Goodbye Tonka; thanks for the memories. :'(

For anyone heading to Marham today...
If you are heading to Marham today the landowners at White Road are content for you to park there at your own risk. Please be respectful of our neighbours and do not enter any farmland without permission. The Aviation Heritage Centre will be open today and tomorrow 9-4.

You can park in the field opposite the farm entrance off the swaffham road opposite the taxi way

Hope it doesn't rain or it will be a quagmire

Comparing RAF Marham's published times with the NOTAM. On Tuesday Wyton is listed in the 15:15 to 15:35 slot along with with Donna Nook and Holbeach. Wyton however does not appear in the NOTAM so will I be wasting my time going there? Don't have the time to go anywhere else on Tuesday's route.
I've also noticed that. I'm just up the road from Wyton so it would make sense to go there rather than try and find somewhere to park, etc at Marham, which was my original plan. But like you say, the station Facebook page says one thing, the NOTAM says another :grr:
Phoned RAF Wyton media office and the only info they would give was "please refer to the RAF Twitter feed" so no further forward. Unless info is forthcoming to say Wyton is not on the route, I'll go there and keep my fingers crossed.

Video on Marham Facebook / twitter from OC 31 advises still looking good for three ship, but both the camo jet and 9 squadron jet are unavailable today.

Gutted, but still be good to see three up!!

Was thinking of going to Dunmail Raise, but a route-map pasted further back on the thread which only shows 'point to point' suggests the Lune Gorge.

Post on twitter from RAF Marham saying that the camo jet and 9 squadron special tail are not available today, but will still be a 3-ship flight.

Not quite the same is it though? I can foresee a situation whereby it may be a struggle to raise 3 of any colour by Thursday! Not dissimilar to raising a running-relay team from an Old Peoples Home on three consecutive days! ;)

Anyone know possible transit heights when overflying waypoints such as Winterton. Might be able to make Winterton for planned 15.03 today, but not going if they fly over in the cloud a couple of thousand feet or so up.
Regards,

Steve.

Weather not looking to good for the a2a refueling on the west coast, see video for update. Will mean Wyton, spadeadam get cancelled and everyone else 35 mins earlier.

Toyed with the idea of Spade and then thought the M6 gap was a possibility, but was only going to go if the specials were up. Weather looks rubbish for Thursday for the Scottish leg, and still no details of route.

Cottesmore... Real shame, they didn't follow the runway as most had assumed. The track took them just south of the base and they were pretty much just silhouettes for us. 😭

TV report hints Donna Nook etc might be between 3 and 3.30, due to weather. Maybe only three aircraft. :(
