It is on the 21st, Leuchars Lossie and Tain.Hawkwind26 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 3:22 pmBut quite surprisingly, to me, not on the official farewell tour list for the Tornado.
A few "official photos" take em off again
Looks like an aptly named Wg Cdr Simon Batt ?lowlevelRAF wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 9:36 amGreat catch indeed! I must admit there are alot more jets up at Lossie with unit markings, than at Coningsby. Hopefully the markings will stay abit longer!
Can anyone make out what name they are putting on the jet?
Matt
I was thinking along similar lines, but I feel sure it all comes down to cost. One of the recent articles states how valuable these new Typhoon agressor squadrons are going to be for the F35 adversary training, from Lossie.... ?? In an ideal world I expect the RAF would (a) have never vacated Leuchars or (b) based the additional Typhoon squadrons at Leeming.F3 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 10:16 amNice catch. Colourful mks. What's not to like! However, yet another Lossie based unit. Seems like half the RAF will soon be up there. Must already be the largest base yet continues to expand. Eggs in basket, next Scottish Independence Referendum (to which the Scots Nats are committed). Is continuing to concentrate RAF up there really such a good idea?
