It could be, hadn't thought of that.

I'm sure we will find out in the coming months...

Please pardon the question, but is it also Saudi Green Flag at Coningsby this year as well as Cobra warrior or is it all one exercise?

Ta
Funny you should mention that, was wondering myself a couple of days ago.

I know the RAF deployed to Saudi earlier this year for an exercise, can't quite remember whether or not that was Green Flag or not. Can't be to long until they're due to return here?

RAF deployed to Saudi in November last year for Green Flag.

F15I 244 was also there, however I doubt that visit has any bearing on this deployment.

Seen a post on Twitter that germans, italians and Israelis are deploying to RAF Waddington for cobra warrior. Anyone else heard this and is nothing going to coningsby this year? Is it because of possible runway works that are due at some point?

Rumours of Coningsby runway resurfacing starting end of June for 3-4 months, and talk of Waddington becoming very busy this year. So it certainly looks possible.

How many fighterjets could be housed at Waddington? I cannot imagine them being placed at the same ramps as the Sentries, Airseekers and other based ISR aircraft

Many fighters can be used at Waddington, area down the very far end was all set up for the ACMI training years ago, where many fighters from Nato would participate.
So there should be no problems at all if this area is still there.

The old ACMI area was approx half way down the runway on the left hand side if looking from the A15, they utilised one of the old V bomber quad dispersals and a newer apron just to the North, not sure if this area is still usable? There are as Richard says two V bomber quad dispersals at the far off end which have been enlarged and could accommodate a good number of fast jets. What area do 13 & 39 Sqn operate from?

13 and 39 Don't need a ramp.....

Meanwhile It did fit rather a lot of airframes on it for each airshow…

Not to mention it was once rather full of Vulcans. And has had more ramp space added since they retired
