Does anyone know what's in the RAF100 flypast on Sunday? Is it the 7 Typhoons, 5 Tornados, 3 F-35s and the BBMF or is there more? There was no detail about what we should have had today but I got the impression it was much bigger than that and was wondering if I go ion Sunday will I see what I missed or just something much smaller.

After the disaster of yesterday (cancellations, crap photo weather and discovering nobody displayed anywhere right of crowd centre) im considering going again Sunday. I might if the B-2 is around.

Typical. Im still 50/50 about tomorrow. B-2 would have swung it.

On a related note, is there ANYWHERE crowd centre where the public can get to the crowdline for photos that isnt in a private enclosure? That was the main killer i found for images, anything around that area i failed to get as couldnt get anywhere near centre.

In between the viewing village and the FRIAT grandstand is just to the left of crowd centre. The right-most part of this area is effectively on crowd centre

Had a great day Friday... was last at RIAT 3/4 years ago.. much more variety this time round.

Yeah the cancellations and rain was pants, but got to see lot I've never seen before, so I was still impressed..

French Navy Rafale duo, Swiss F-18 and the Sukoi were top for me..

bit of an observation, and may be completely wrong, but is the F-35 much less manouverable than it's 4gen counterparts? the display seemed very wide and sluggish. Accelleration though was amazing, there were one or two occasions when the jet accellerated away from the crowd and it was FAST ! Also, the commentary was a proper sales pitch, I did feel like I wanted to buy one after it

Yeah the cancellations and rain was pants, but got to see lot I've never seen before, so I was still impressed..

French Navy Rafale duo, Swiss F-18 and the Sukoi were top for me..

I was really unimpressed by the F-35A but was giving it some benefit of the doubt in that he wasnt meant to solo display so probably had things planned around the P51 and may well need display authorisation for anything more. Reminded me of typhoons first displays when it was engine and g limited.

Also not sure what the pilots plan was, he spent a lot of the time out behind the crowd line of the car parks. Display consisted of 30 seconds of a pass, roll or climb then 2 mins respositioning while we were subject to some fairly crappy american rock music.

It may have been a last minute "Do something, anything" display within the restrictions allowed in that. If it wasn't then yeah theres no excuse. F-35 is a dog for sure but the -A variant is capable enough to put on a display (way more than the -B we got).
The V-22 i thought could have done much more of a show than he did with the aircraft.
Display team wise the Swiss were very good technically, the Frecce Tricolori were very very good. The Aguila i think hampered by a flat display weather but their commentator has to win an award for enthusiasm - the guy was full of it but always sounded genuinely surprised when they did something.

There was some good flying, no use of flares and pyro which they had at Yeovilton disappointed a bit, the CF18 and Belgian were good again but the Rafale solo and the SU-27 was fantastic examples of a "busy" non stop high energy display.
Weather really limited photo ops though, combined with me failing to find anywhere crowd centre to position myself.

Flares are never allowed at Fairford so no surprise there.

Yep, 82-1068 was at RIAT 2012 and, also, was on deployment at Fairford June 2017 at the time of Baltops/Sabre Strike.
