No dates down my way sadly. I went on tour with him about 1986 in the lighting crew, when Trampoline was in the charts. Absolutely bonkers but a very caring bloke.

Saw Matt Berry last night, kind of 60's psychedelic pop with a touch of early Yes or Genesis thrown in. Excellent gig.

Brit awards in 30 mins on ITV, better be worth watching :grr:  . I was meant to be seeing The War on Drugs tonight in Nottingham but they have delayed the gig because they are are nominated for Best International group (which they won't win, they are up against Foo Fighters  )

Radio 6 have been playing War On Drugs quite a lot, some live songs too, they sound pretty good. Saw Lower Than Atlantis last week, they were good, and got Dreadzone yet again Thursday next week at Brighton.

The War on Drugs were great live the other week at Rock City :thumb: , only let down by the sound quality of the vocals.

Muse have released the first single from their new album "Drones" Sounds like typical Muse but I like it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqLRqzTp6Rk

Bit boring up to 1 minute, but when the chorus bit 'kicks in' so it's not too bad , could be better to keep the rocky bit and lose the slow bits!
Very Manic Street Preachers IMHO

You'll love U2 live Gary..I've seen them 4 times now but the new album does nothing for me and that's from a someone who's been there since the start.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned Cast. They supported U2 on their Popmart Tour and John Power has been in your recently.
A very underated singer song writer.

Couldn't agree more mate, seen them myself four or five times over they years,in Dublin as well.
Like you the new album does nothing for me,the last one as well wasn't much cop.
They do put on a decent show though, but for the price of tickets they should do.
I'm a big Cast fan as well, great band, seen them many times over the years always in Liverpool.

I've never posted on the music thread so I'm not sure if this absolutely amazing show has ever been posted on here. I am referring to "Return to the Forbidden Planet",
based on William Skakespears, " The Tempest" this is without doubt one of the finest rock and roll shows ever, The show is in its 25th year, with a fantastic jam session

Anyone know when the new global music release date of Friday is meant to introduced? I've done a search and no date seems to have been mentioned. Only ask because the new Mumford & Sons album is coming out this Friday, whether that is the first to take advantage or they've released it early because of the bank holiday and to try and beat Blur not sure

Booked tickets to see The Editors in October at Cambridge Junction :thumb: should be a brilliant gig

Edit :- BBC are moving the chart show in mid July  so the global release day should start about then :) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-32019327

On the subject of books, the Wilko Johnson book 'Looking Back At Me' is an excellent read if you're a fan of his, or Dr. Feelgood, or early punk. My daughter is seeing Dub Pistols tonight at Dingwalls, would've gone meself but I'm going to see The Hotsie Totsies and take pics at their gig in a disused tube station under Soho.

Just seen on the BBC that Errol Brown has passed away :( .

I've seen him on stage twice at the Ipswich Regent, including his 2009 farewell tour. Such a talented man, who certainly knew how to entertain his audiences. I always wondered if his 2009 tour would really be his last, I'd always hoped that he may come back just one more time, his shows really were that good! RIP.
