Re: December 2018 Movements/Yuletide Log
Just looking on ADS-B, Saudi Tonka is back up west of the Lake District.
On a side note, does Warton tend to operate between Christmas and New Year or do they have a shut down period? Hoping to get back up there and grab some photos of ZE114 bits it’s looking like my only chance will be between 22 Dec and 6th Jan.
Thanks

Would imagine the place will close down on 23/12 and re-open on 2/1.
Guesswork, not fact, however they always close for a week or so.

Chatting to a friend who works at Warton the other day, BAE shutdown on Friday 21st at lunchtime, so don't expect any flying after Thursday.
They reopen on Weds 2nd Jan, but the chances of flying that day are slim. Hope this helps.

Re: December 2018 Movements/Yuletide Log
ZJ700 is/was test aircraft for E-scan radar (Captor) - presumably testing is still underway.
Happy Christmas to all Warton personnel - whether on or outside airfield!

Thurs 20/12 cont/d
CS3 seen on climbout to nth (initially up coast) @ 1037z. transitted back via just sth Sheffield and NE Manch; initials break 1136z & land 1138z. Thats it for tonka testing (this year).
Typhoon IPA5 seen on climbout 25 @ 1222z flown by WTN10 as "Fighter". Managed to get airborne today after yesterdays attempts; F20E "Target" (showing on PlaneFinder as G-FRAK/Vader 61) heard initially out to west @ 1228z. Then over the Fylde/Wyre @ 18000ft before hdg NW off Cumbrian coast. Then went into a "tight" racetrack over land in SW scotland Kirkcudbright area & Galloway forest (NW-SE) also @ 18000ft. Appears to have flown direct from TeesSide and not landed at Warton.
G-FRAK seen low over Lytham @ 1345z i/b on recovery. Landed 1348z "Vader 61" c/sign on recovery. WTN10 recovered via SRA rwy 25 & landed 1411z. Mission finally accomplished :-)
Cheers

Re: December 2018 Movements/Yuletide Log
Considering risking a visit this afternoon to see if there is much movement. Fingers crossed ZE114 is on the apron at least!
Re: December 2018 Movements/Yuletide Log
I wouldn't bother - a contact on-site tells me nothing scheduled today.

Thanks. Saves a no-show and a disappointed 5 year old. I’ll try later this week.
