May I play devil's advocate for a moment. Let us think why it was felt necessary to introduce the parking restrictions around Waddington,, and I don't mean just on this occasion.slogen51 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 1:15 pmI bet the farmers pull some pretty big strings on the parish or local council and can bye- law the lay-by shut or can they?
I liked the wave when it was part cafe and part hobbyist book shop.
But the location is pretty good let's be honest with plenty of parking toilets and food and drink and close to the fence across a busy road
I am not really complaining because you don't have to go there - Oops but yes you do because every other historical parking spot has restrictions! I think when road closures erode personal liberties then it leaves a bad taste. The authorities want to corral us like cattle. We are British and expect a choice and the lay by should be open for normal use.
They were almost certainly introduced as a result of inconsiderate and dangerous parking by individuals on the roads around the base. Hence the restrictions were brought in to make the area safer. I wonder who all the people were who parked in stupid places, probably those now moaning about the restrictions.
And yes I am a LCC tax payer and no I do not think they are wasting my money when safety is paramount. Lincolnshire has a very high accident rate and anything to minimise the risk is welcomed.
