Or alternatively it was a case of putting two and two together and coming up with the correct answer. Post in heads up confirms a 1500 arrival for today, a mere 30 minutes difference from the original suggestion. Sometimes you do need to believe what is hopefully an accurate post, we cannot however allow for the failings of the USAF.
plmc135,
If you read my post correctly I just stated the fact that there were no F-22s at Lakenheath at the time that the man in the coffee shop was saying 'they are already here'! I never said anything about them not coming.
As has already been posted, all being well, the sound of freedom will once again grace the fence at Lakenheath this afternoon...
Regards

So these days fighter pilots catch a lift with air transport whilst their aircraft are flown over for them?? :S :D
Yes. Normal procedure for most deployments.

The F-22s are in that central shelter area that is opposite the viewing area ( where the F-35s were earlier this year)

I read on here that Monday is a US holiday for Lakenheath so Tuesday hopefully for some flying - only guessing!

Yes that was the landing order - the flight split into a four and two.

raameagle wrote:Correct, and if 6 aircraft deploy, they don’t just have the 6 ‘ferry’ pilots to fly during the deployment. All of the other pilots go civair or by military charter/transport and are usually in position (jet lag rested etc) ready to start flying straight away.

Interesting, never come across that before, thanks.
