The cost of entry to the Embassy Air Tattoo in 1973 was around £15 - £20 if my memory serves me. At 2016 equivalents, that would be £166 - £221So, let us not gripe about the cost of basic tickets. If you want all the "bells and whistles" extras (multiple days, P&V arrivals/departures, Grandstands, FRIAT, etc), it is your choice to go super-expensive - so don't whinge at the price. It is stupid to expect the standard of a Hilton if you are putting up at a budget B&B.

To check, i dug out my 1979 IAT Programme with flyers inside - which state that entry to the show is £3 for an adult: £2.50 if bought in advance. So working on approx 11x more now as you were, would make it £33 (£27.50 in advance).
