Post by Gary » Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:12 pm

XI(F) Sqn going on an adventure
The Royal Air Force is sending aircraft and personnel to join two major exercises in the Indo-Pacific Region this summer.

One exercise will be based in Australia and the other Hawaii. To get to Australia the RAF is taking the opportunity to work with the Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace to conduct a joint activity to get both nation’s aircraft to Australia.

They landed at Istres Air Base, France. I guess they will be dragged by a French A330MRTT

RAF A330 ZZ330 RRR9110 also arrived at Istres on July 4th so the trail out to Aus for Pitch Black will be conducted jointly with FAF and RAF A330s tanking.

....so either more than 6 ended up at Istres, or a wrong serial is quoted somewhere?

Kind Regards.

Hawaii is the place to be for military enthusiasts then. 27th June saw the start of RimPac 2024 based in Hawaii. 29 nations have sent ships to take part including those non Pacific nations of Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Denmark, France, Israel and UK.

I respectfully disagree with the above post, Darwin in Australia is the place to be for the military aircraft enthusiast. Pitch black 24 starts next week and the aircraft are arriving, I do not have links to any sites but I would suggest those who have twitter, search #pitchblack24 and enjoy the photos
