Re: Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo Flypasts 2023
Regarding the BBMF, I was kind of hinting at the (un)likelihood of them being able to appear (or the impracticality of them ever doing so) with my comments about round trip times. Even coming from Coningsby at that time of night would be a stretch - they might even have a self-imposed 'curfew' to avoid night flying such valuable aircraft of their age.
As for tonight, I had to miss the opportunity as I tweaked my back last weekend and I'm still in a lot of pain with restricted mobility. Literally finding it difficult to get out of bed each day. I'm currently focusing (pardon the pun) on trying to recover enough to photograph the UCI World Championship road race as it passes close to my house on the way to Glasgow, and hopefully managing to make my way through there to capture the city centre finish as well. Still touch and go for managing that too (and another pun!)

Does anyone know, are the Reds on a round trip this Saturday for the flypast or are they overnighting at Edinburgh?
Thanks.

Re: Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo Flypasts 2023
Can anyone confirm the time for the Red Arrows Edinburgh Tattoo Flypast on Saturday please? I have it for 6.15pm BST but the Military Airshows Website says it is 5.15pm and they state that as BST but is theirs really Military time?
Re: Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo Flypasts 2023
I'd go with 6.15pm, as that's when the first Tattoo of the evening starts, & it's usually the flypasts (on the nights they are scheduled) that kick the show off. At 5.15pm, people will probably still be queuing to get in.
Re: Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo Flypasts 2023
Cheers Vandal that sounds the more logical timing to me......
Re: Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo Flypasts 2023
Am hearing the Atlas Blenheim Callsign but can’t make out the Typhoons. Also the Typhoons aren’t showing up on Tracking yet anyway.
Re: Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo Flypasts 2023
They're flying as BLENHEIM Formation tonight. Just been confirmed on the scanner. At the mound at Crash gate 6 just now.
Well that's PLANE to see!
Re: Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo Flypasts 2023
Can anyone confirm the callsign of the Typhoon pair please? - Think I heard either SPARTAN or PHANTOM but could have been PYTHON? Also IDs if possible for Typhoons?

Re: Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo Flypasts 2023
One of the Typhoons was SPARTAN62 ZK378 briefly pinged up on approach back to Lossiemouth at 2150. No sign of the other.
Re: Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo Flypasts 2023
Cheers calderdepot I’ll keep an eye on this one incase anyone happens to find out. Thought it might have been SPARTAN callsign but just wasn’t sure. Cheerz.
