Re: Bentwaters,March 1992.
Really miss Bentwaters. A day up the road to Wantisden Church always brought you close to the action. You bet, very close indeed. Was great there when they had the low wooden fence😉 Cheers, Ranger Absolutely. Think it was the last holiday I had with my dad & mum. We were driving around the countrys...

Re: 1974 in retrospect
Wonderful set of pictures. The rarest one for me is the German SIGINT Atlantic 61+02. This one seldom seen, especially without the underwing spy antennas
Happy Xmas.

My advise cardreader vs pc connection, pc connection is better because that way you can not damage the cardpins by removing and installing your card every time you need to download pictures.

Seems 2 Rafales out of St Dizier, a single and a dual. The single seat pilot ejected but the dual ones are missing. Hope for the best.

Re: Frisbee Tankers
Assuming 'Frisbee' is a reference to the rotodome on top of the AWACS based there at Geilenkirchen, Germany. Easily makes as much sense as my son calling it the 'Smartie Plane' after some UK. confectionery whose shape matches the rotadome! Either way, great to see those shots as I had spotted that ...

It certainly was one of their SIGINT Atlantics.Vulture 01 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 4:21 pmIsn't the Atlantic one of the ECM / snoopers the Marineflieger operated?

Re: Reports :- SU-27 & MQ-9 “incident” over the Black Sea
Can't determine actually if it hit it or not If you check the last two frames the prop blade on the right is bent. Must have hit the prop and the engine failed as well as the prop is not going very fast. To me it also looks like one of the other blades is feathered as well on one of the last frames...

Re: Why do US military (generally) avoid overflying Belgian airspace?
Thanks guys, I know France is in NATO but assumed extra paperwork issues from when it wasn't (70s 80s 90s and most of the naughties) still lingered on. But yes, I get simplicity. Thinking about the 'serial/reg swapping' 757s/C-32s, which I haven't noticed much but they're probably using the cloakin...

Re: Why do US military (generally) avoid overflying Belgian airspace?
France GAT for overflying isn't a problem, only a risk of slottimes. France OAT for overflying is a nightmare because the flightplan has to be checked by the French militairies first, during that time you have to wait for acceptance or refusal. Waiting for that message takes a wee while. When gettin...

Re: My first trip to England, 30/7/1968
Dear Ranger, thank you for your kind comments. These Phantoms are F-4C's. Kudo's for noticing it, I never did! When you see the pair landing at Bentwaters in my 29/7/1968 posting you see that one has the modificatioin already while the other doesn't. So it is obvious that the modification only took...
