Re: Miscoded Chinook showing as Tucano query?

I have seen it listed elsewhere as an HC.6A, so it may have been converted over the last year or so and the info hasn't been updated in various databases (e.g. Scramble and UK Serials websites still list it as an HC.5). I think there is no external difference between them, as the conversion is from...

Re: UK to scrap some warships, helicopters and drones

Wouldn’t say the oldest 14 chinooks are dead wood, 674 is fresh out of fleetlands which is odd if it’s gonna be axed in March. The oldest cabs seem to be flying as much as the new cabs, unsure which ones will actually go Its not all the oldest cabs that are going, some of them have already been ret...

Re: Closure of Odiham, Benson and Wallop and turning Boscombe into a heli base- my proposal

And also not forgetting that both Benson and Odihams runways could also be used for a fast jet FOB if required. Just another thought that could be factored in to any decision? A couple of Typhoons did actually do a Ace excerise to Benson not that long ago. As someone with a current connect to Benso...

One of the two Hurricanes was BE505/XP-L (G-HHII) according to ADSB. I suspect the other was R4118/UP-W (G-HUPW). Both came from White Waltham, displayed, then night stopped, and have just left back to WW.
Can confirm it was G-HHII and G-HUPW at Benson last night

Re: Chinook Mess

As for the marks, I could be wrong but this is how I understand it. Mark 4/4A are upgraded Mark 2/2A Mark 5 are upgraded Mark 3 (believe these are the special ops one's with larger fuel tanks etc) Mark 6 are new build CH-47F. Marks 6A are upgraded Mark 4/4A (which we're mark 2/2A) I think one of th...

Regarding the work Arco are doing on the Lanc , dIdnt St Athan RAF, Do maintenance on all RAF aircraft ? just a query regarding the amount of servicing the RAF engineers now do? Rob The RAF has no in house "depth" maintenance capability now, it's all outstourced to industry. Not quite true, Puma de...

RAF Marham have announced today that the Victor will be getting the chop after all, seems like no one has been able to present a viable case to save it. Will be a real loss, miss waking up and seeing it from my room window everyday
