Re: king's birthday flypast rehearsal 2025
I have no inside info but I would happily but a bet on there being an 80 formation and yes they have been practising something out of the way of your beady eyes - https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10160831177447713&set=gm.2853673574767927&idorvanity=344457062356270 That link is from April 2023. ...

Re: king's birthday flypast rehearsal 2025
I see - thank,s a little too early then. I knew the date for the actual one but just wondered if they would bother with a rehearsal given that they have effectively just done one on Monday and then will of doen an actual one next week, all be it maybe with differing aircraft and a formation of 80 n...

Re: king's birthday flypast rehearsal 2025
Kings Birthday Flypast is listed as 14/06/2025 on the Red Arrows Display Dates : https://www.raf.mod.uk/display-teams/red-arrows/displays/ Seems logical that there would be a rehearsal for timings etc. Keep an eye on the NOTAMS nearer the time. I see - thank,s a little too early then. I knew the da...

Re: VE Day 80th
The press release from the government as the link above say 23 aircraft ,this includes the BBMF plus the Red Arrows if so what a insult to the WW 11 veteran's after all it's probably the last opportunity to thank them. I hope the number is a typo It doent seem to be a large flypast but remember f35...

Re: WAVE Facebook group
I'm in their bad books again today as I met with someone to give them a copy of my book they'd paid for. I received a message whilst in the car park 'polite reminder that you are not allowed to sell anything in the car park'. Didn't bother replying. Guess the latest post on the group is about you t...

Re: KC46 crew query
I haven’t had chance to look over a KC46 yet, but perhaps somebody can clear up a question I have concerning crew access. Do the crew need a set of airstairs to board the aircraft ? I know the KC10 used air stairs but I think it also had a ladder that hung down vertically from the front door that c...

Re: Telegraph- Why Britain’s F-35s could be consigned to the scrap heap
Our forces do seem somewhat small but there’s more than 100 jets. More like 120 Typhoon and 34 F-35, projected in a few years to just over 100 typhoon with binning of tranche 1s and hopefully 74 lightnings. Or 48 if we’re unlucky. Yes agreed there are more airframes, my comment stated operational, ...

Re: BBMF return to flight, update please
From what I was told the other day they still have no answers as to what caused the crash and I can see the fighters being grounded for the rest of the season. The hope is they can get the Lancaster signed off to return to flight before the end of the season. the chipmunk has been up this morning an...

Re: Ukraine claims first Su-57
As far as I know, all the Squadrons at Lossie operate from the HAS sites, both 3 and 11 still do at Coningsby 3 and 11 pull the jets out in the morning and leave them on the line till the end of the day. the jets don't actually operate from the HAS. I guess if we was in a conflict then they would b...

I bet it will not be seen in German airshows. The WW2 Typhoons caused havoc in Normandy it destroyed the German army when use they cab rank tactics .Fac called waves of Typhoons to attack the German army as they retreated at Falaise . That's why the GAF call there aircraft EF2000 You might find the...

Re: Req Cobra Warrior dates 24-1
Nothing official yet, but should be either w/c 2nd or 9th September based on previous years. Let's hope it happens! The reasons for the March running being cancelled was lack of foreign participants, with only German Tornados on the list to attend, and that Waddington would be busy with other thing...

What does n/m stand for, is it no movement? If so ZK309 was briefly moved onto the washpan so it could be pushed into the paintshop. It was only on the washpan for a couple of minutes while the tractor was turned around. I presume it stands for 'no (squadron) markings'. Good point. Hadn't thought o...

So will these new chinooks have a refuelling probe like people keep saying " they are just MH 47G". If so, will we have to reley on mildenhall hercs to refuel them?
