Re: Quiet Cranwell
Thanks for the reply, there was a van towing what looked like a rotary brush up and down the runway. The two Phenoms were ZM334 and ZM335 whilst a Prefect, ZM306 callsign was Gundog I believe, did a touch and go.

Quiet Cranwell
Stopped at Cranwell on the way down South, only two Phenoms active, it seemed like all the other CWL callsigns were operating from Barkston Heath.

So we are closed until 12:45 on Tuesday although Helo's are operating from Monday, or have I totally misread it?

Re: Ex Cobra Warrior parking restrictions
Seems very strange to take off on 02 whatever the wind . Does that mean they will also land on 02 ?? More intersted in landing shots than high in the sky take-offs. Cheers No, land runway 20 and off straight in to their ramp. Probably why the track at the 02 end is out of bounds. Leon As we have fo...

Re: Cobra Warrior September/volcanex/ 2018
Haha. You can see over the fence for about 2 or 3ft to the south of the red/white threshold fence, before the bush starts. Other than that, it's very hard to see. Photo on link is taken from the wave car park, gives you a rough idea. Gone are the days of head on taxi shots. You can only just see XM...

Re: 07 end today, RAF Police.
Try that sort of response in any other country and you will probably get locked up! Yes he may have been, in your opinion, a jumped-up jobsworth but he is doing his job. Would you do the same at Lakenheath? Arguing with the other side of the fence is only going to put what we have in this country a...

Re: 07 end today, RAF Police.
Yes, there were two youngsters waffling on about jetblast, making totally dumb statements that were laughable.
Mind you, I was blown off the old 1980's wooden fence by a gaggle of Hawks a long time ago, that was a bit of fun and they had a whole lot more blow than todays Typhoons.

Re: monopod?
Have a couple of Manfrotto monopods, great for motorsport, can be used for aircraft flying by folding forward under the lens like a rifle for more leverage. I saw an American serviceman using a tripod to photograph flying aircraft last week, he picked it up and was waving everything around, really q...

Thanks for all the kind comments, my first visit to Portugal, Monte Real is close to the Atlantic coast and Nazare, watching the waves rolling in was beautiful.
