Ian,
My tolerance level is surprisingly high, and I have unlimited time for those that are looking for help, but the brazen bone-idle laziness of some people that have been posting over the past 48 hours is astonishing. "What is this?" "Why is this?" "When is this?" - all preceded or followed with "I can't find this info" is downright lazy and disrespectful for those that are taking the time to post the info in the first place, in some cases hours and even days in advance!
The thing that makes a forum different to an egroup is that the information doesn't go anywhere, you can see more than one thing at once (has anyone looked on the Milscanners Yahoo Group recently, does their file system still have hundreds of files that are somewhat out of date?) - key information is "stickied" to the top of the relevant section, so callsigns, waypoints, abbreviations are all there for people to see. However, people don't. People just expect it handed to them on a plate, time and time again.
Manners is another thing; "where is it?" has been asked at least five times today, not once was please or thank you used.
This hobby does - or at least did - excite me. This evening, reading the posts on here, I'm starting to wonder if I should take up bus spotting.

Re: Communications
I am with you on this one Ian.There seems to be a select group of people on fighter control that like nothing better than to deride others for trivial matters. It was not like it a few years ago and i have been with the group since it started. It got so bad my brother gave up posting on here because of all the animosity. Its supposed to be a hobby and fun,but some take it too seriously.
