Biman DC-10 Retirement

3rd January 1989 – The unmistakable shape of a McDonnell Douglas DC-10 touches down at Dhakas Zia International Airport to begin life with her new owners Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Now some 25 years on, the same aircraft carrying registration S2-ACR otherwise known as ‘New Era’, is drawing to a close the passenger role of the loyal trijet as the last airline with the DC-10 in use gets ready to retire the type. Jamie Ewan takes a look at the operating history of the type with Biman and is on board for one of its final passenger flights.

Civvie. contravenes FC rule 8 which states military or pseudo military aircraft only. This is neither. Iconic aircraft or not, stick it on the civilian aviation forum as thats what it's there for. A moderator should know better than to break the rules. post reported.

If you care to look above you'll see that this has been posted under the AeroResource Articles section of the forum; a section which promotes all articles published by AR and is present on both Civilian Aviation and Fighter Control and which operates irrelevantly of what content that forum consists of. AeroResource covers all aspects of aviation, as a result both civilian and military articles are published here. Equally, you'll find military related articles are posted in the respective section of the Civilian Aviation forum.

I would've thought all of that was obvious. Report closed, as it is invalid.

Great report! :thumb:

As for rule 8 being called, that was also said by a certain someone on the Glasgow Police Helicopter crash thread...

I'll add too, with all due respect, that Rule 9 states that all sentences must begin with a capital letter.

The flight did involve an Airspace Reservation within the NWMTA, and emptied VATA-E of Hawks for a while!
