These pix have fairly done the rounds over the past 48 hours or more - superb quality, clearly from the same stable as the Jaguar. I just hope this comes to fruition.

Me too but there's still no word as to whether it really is 32nd scale or 48th. If it's 48th (and costs 2-3 times the cost of the Airfix kit) it ain't gonna be that much of a thrill!

Anyway I've said my piece about this saga on LSP, Britmodeller and Pprune. My view is that the guy who is spreading all the information isn't actually from Trumpeter at all - he's just some lunatic having fun with some modellers who are too childish/stupid to know any better!

... and as expected, LSP have now cancelled my membership!

Don't you just love modelling forums? Run by idiots who have a mental age of about five. If anyone dares to say anything which the appropriate clique doesn't like, they stick their fingers in their ears and shout "nah nah nah"...

The scary thing is that most of them are (allegedly) adults too!

I'll try to come to terms with the sadness and horror of not being able to contribute to their magnificently ill-informed forum any longer

You wont find any of that here Tim, I appreciate peoples opinions on models as long as there is no arguing. Unlike other forums I welcome peoples knowledge and opinions (even if I don't agree sometimes  ). Please keep us informed of anything you here.

It's pretty sad - I only joined Britmodelers the other day and already see it for what it is. You've clearly got an enemy over there, I'm guessing the same one who has posted such ridiculous reviews of your books on Amazon. What on earth is his problem?

I've been drooling over these pix for a couple of days now, but only this afternoon have I noticed an obvious problem. There is clearly something wrong with the aft cockpit, but where precisely?

Image

Clearly the rear cockpit is too short, the face blind handle of the bang-seat is almost touching the blast screen, but where exactly have they got it wrong, I cant work it out, but the gap ought to be much larger.

Well we assume it's because I didn't join his fan club or something! This is what happens with a lot of the people on these modelling sites (and other forums too as we know only too well). The sites are often run by people who don't have any real judgement and they are unable to edit what is published or not published on the basis of content, and simply act on their own tastes so that anything they don't agree with, or anything which annoys them or their friends, inevitably results in the person concerned being removed. It's very childish but quite funny really. Ultimately of course it's quite sad as people who want to glean information, or have a meaningful discussion, are bullied-out if they don't say the right things to the right people. But that's the nature of these forums I'm afraid.

This Trumpeter saga is quite hilarious and in some ways I'm quite interested to see just how far it runs and to what extremes of madness the various fools will go. Might be fun! :pop:

PS- and yes that cockpit does look mighty suspect!
