Something a little out of the norm.

Not expecting this to win any pin sharp awards or anything, was more or less shot directly into the sun, but it not everyday you see these beauties knocking about.

ImageYI522 (1 of 1) by Rob Burns, on Flickr

Taken at Marseille on June the 01st, one of three that were flying that day (YI-521, YI-522 and YI-523), believed to be the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of 12 ordered. Great little airport Marseille, especially for biz, and the Airbus Helicopter factory.

Might interest someone.

Lovely shot of a little gem.

So easy to put YI-522 into Google but for the benefit of everyone it's an Airbus H.225M for the Iraqi Army.

That right there is a great example of why more don’t post on here or why so many have stopped, given your posts and your knowledge in said posts, you knew exactly what this was already.

I will continue to post here, but are there other forums that people use to share pictures and write ups of where to see from, the general experience etc ?

Lovely shot, well caught!

Yeah, it's a real frustration with comments like that, or talking about a building in the background (on one of my posts)

Exactly the reason you no longer see posts from Warton (not from me as I sold my gear years ago..)

I think you're confused. I have next to no knowledge of modern helicopters, especially those found in France for Iraq. I would never have dreamed that googling the serial would help. How on earth can anybody have intimate knowledge of everything?

With all due respect that is what the Iinternet is for. At least now you will know for the future. To be honest a "please" wouldn't have gone amiss. Oh and you're welcome, to the answer I provided for you.

I like this shot / thread - simply enlarge the photo to read self explanatory titles plus a little bit of background to marseille - just what many enthusiasts want to see - perfect.

( sorry sdad - after careful consideration a warning will be issued- if you don't have something constructive to say then , well you know the rest !. Rule 4 applies)
