Flying days - Americans 26th July

Post by reaper493 » Tue Jul 23, 2024 1:26 pm

Attending Duxford this Friday for my first 'flying day' - have seen the small number of flying participants and the info about the 492nd being there on the ground.

Do any of the other LN or Mildenhall Squadrons turn up with merch or anything?

Do any American visitors every fly through?

And lastly what time does flying start? Early afternoon as normal?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mike,

Looking back at the VE Day Flying Day in May, the display started at 13.30 and lasted a couple of hours.
But there were a few arrivals/departures before and after the official flying.

Beware the car parking if you get put northside - can be a logjam getting out.

There's usually a one pass by 'craft from Lakenheath and/or Mildehhall another forum says timed for 12:00 tomorrow. As to "merch" I have not paid attention in the past as it's not if interest to me.

There was a US presence outside the American Air Museum for the VE Day Flying & D-Day Airshow with their wares on sale, the website suggests that there should be something again tomorrow...
